Summary: A really bizarre view of pre-Giuliani New York City. | |
Martin Scorsese directs an amazing tale of an ambulance driver on the graveyard shift in early 90's NYC. The neighborhood is Hell's Kitchen (now called "Clinton"), a really scummy area near the Port Authority Bus Terminal, west of Times Square. He does this job even though it really sucks because every once in a while he gets to save a life and it's the ultimate high for him. But lately, everyone he's been called on to help has died. |
