Summary: You may also view this as a sick comedy. | |
Christian Bale plays a priviliged VP who appears to have no business skills whatsoever. The son of the president, he sits in a nice, secluded office and whittles his time away watching daytime TV and dreaming up new and interesting ways to kill people. By night, he turns into a sick serial killer, constantly coming up with new ways to kill people. By day, he is an image-obsessed investment banker working in mergers & acquisitions. His sole redeeming qualities appear to be his taste and knowledge of music. The movie's soundtrack is excellent, a nice collection of 80's hits. The tale itself appears to take place in the 80's money culture as well. As time goes on though, his killing rage gets more out of control, and he starts to crumble. Bale gives an excellent performance, but the story itself is lacking in goals. Where is the beginning and end? Definitely worth seeing though, it'll really keep your attention. |
