Summary: Visually stunning, haunting story
It's very much like The Nightmare Before Christmas, also directed by Henry Selick. Coraline moves to a new home and finds a door to a magical other world with an other mother and other father. At first this new world seems better, but it quickly becomes obvious that something dreadfully wrong is happening. Story by Neil Gaiman, who was impressive on Sandman but has had limited success outside of that, until this.
